The call
The postmortem is where an engineering organization writes down what it actually understood about a failure: what the alerts said, what people believed at each point, which belief turned out to be wrong, and what changed afterward. We are acquiring these from teams running production systems at any scale.
The timeline should be intact. Follow-up items should carry their status where known: done, dropped, or still open.
What qualifies
- Reviews of incidents that occurred, from 2019 onward
- A timeline with at least five timestamped entries
- Contributing factors and remediation stated
What is excluded
- Incidents involving a data breach still under notification
- Reviews written for this call
- Templates or tabletop exercises
De-identification
Company, product, customer and engineer names replaced. Internal hostnames, credentials and customer identifiers removed by automated scan and confirmed by the contributor. Standard GF-D4.
Review
Automated secret scan on every file, then read by a senior engineer with on-call experience. Reviews that read as summaries rather than investigations are returned.
Rights
Full license transferred to Gridfile at acceptance. Firm agreement required.
