The grid is Gridfile's network of contributing professionals and firms. Members are notified when a call opens in their field, submit under it, and are paid on acceptance.
Who contributes
Advisors, underwriters, adjusters, litigators, engineers, clinicians, tax practitioners, operations leads, software engineers. Individuals contributing their own work, and firms contributing under an agreement that covers their staff.
You do not need to produce anything for a call. The documents already exist; you are licensing them, de-identified, with your attestation that you hold the rights.
What it pays
The rate is in the call, per accepted file or per accepted hour, and it is the rate paid: there is no fee on the contributor side. Payment lands within seven days of acceptance, to a bank account or against a firm invoice.
Firms submitting in volume are quoted per call and sampled at review rather than read file by file.
Questions people ask before joining
Do I need my firm's permission?
If the document belongs to your firm, yes. Most calls in regulated domains require a firm agreement for that reason. If you authored the document independently, an individual agreement is enough. When in doubt, the call's Rights section says which.
What if a file is returned?
You get a one-line reason from the editor and can resubmit once. Returned files were never licensed; the attestation on them lapses.
Can I withdraw a file after acceptance?
Yes, on written notice. The provenance record is marked withdrawn and the file is removed from future deliveries. Payment already made is not clawed back.
Who reads my files?
An automated pass, then one domain editor. Editors are practitioners from the field the call is in and are bound by the same confidentiality terms as Gridfile staff.
