What you agree to, in plain words.

The license

When an editor accepts a file you submitted under a call, you grant Gridfile a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify and sublicense the file for the purpose of training, evaluating and improving machine learning systems, and to deliver it to Gridfile's licensees for the same purpose. Until acceptance, no license is granted and you may withdraw the file at any time.

What you warrant

• You authored the file, or the firm you submit for owns it and has authorized the submission.
• The file was produced in the course of professional work before the call opened. It was not written for the call.
• You have de-identified the file to the standard named in the call.
• Submitting the file does not breach a confidentiality obligation, court order or professional rule that binds you.

De-identification standards

Each call names a standard: GF-D1 general, GF-D2 financial, GF-D3 clinical, GF-D4 technical. The standards are described on the methodology page. Where a file contains a residual identifier after review, it is rejected and the attestation on it lapses. Repeated residual identifiers may end your agreement.

Payment

Accepted files are paid at the rate stated in the call, within seven days of acceptance, in USD or, at your election, your local currency at the rate on the day of payment. Gridfile takes no fee from the contributor. You are responsible for your own taxes.

Withdrawal

You may withdraw an accepted file on written notice. Gridfile marks the file withdrawn in its provenance record and excludes it from future deliveries. Licensees who already received the file are notified. Payment already made is not recovered.

Editors and confidentiality

Files are read by an automated pass and by one domain editor. Editors are bound by written confidentiality terms. Returned and rejected files are deleted within thirty days.

Privacy

Gridfile keeps your name, contact details, professional details and agreement records for as long as your agreement is in force and for seven years after, for audit. We do not sell or share your personal details with licensees; provenance records identify contributors by agreement number only.

Disputes

A returned or rejected file may be appealed once, in writing, to a second editor. Beyond that, the full agreement's dispute clause applies.
