The call
Before a mediation or a settlement conference, counsel writes to the client with a view: how likely is liability, what are the damages worth, what should we accept. We are acquiring these memos from concluded matters together with the actual outcome, so the judgment can be read against the result.
Civil and commercial matters in any jurisdiction. The outcome may be a settlement figure, a range, or a verdict.

- Matters under seal or a confidentiality order that covers the analysis
- Criminal or family matters
- Memos without an outcome
De-identification
Party, witness and counsel names replaced with role labels. Court and jurisdiction may stay. Amounts may stay unless they identify the matter. Standard GF-D2.
